PLANTEX SUNFIRE CERAMIC flap disc has a 40/60 combination multi-grain grit that grinds like a 40, blends like a 60. The innovative ceramic-hybrid grit structure provides aggressive material removal and controlled blending and finishing.

It is available in 4-1/2" and 5" diameters with a 5/8" x 11 threaded hub.

It can also be trimmed with cutting tools, a process that is simple and straightforward. The PLANTEX flap disc can be used down to the last flap of the abrading fabric – and saves you money in the process!	PLANTEX Patented Hightech Compound Backing Plate The development of the new PLANTEX high-tech compound has resulted in the production of the first flap discs in the world with a backing plate made of natural hemp, with polypropylene used to bind it. Hemp fiber high-tech compound is an almost ideal base material for flap disc backing plates – it is flexible, heat-absorbent (for low grinding temperatures), very easy to trim, safe to use and easy to dispose of. The cavities of the hemp fiber structure, in conjunction with polypropylene, have a highly insulating, damping and noise-reducing effect, thus enhancing the safety features of the discs.

The Sunfire flap disc is a new generation of ceramic flap disc consisting of a hybrid 40/60 grit, which is MPA tested and ANSI B7.1, EN13743 certified. The hybrid grit design allows for high removal rate with a highly improved finish of a 60 grit abrasive. This design dramatically improves finish quality, reducing scratches and steps required to create finer finishes. The PLANTEX high-tech compound is the first flap disc backing plate in the world made of natural hemp. In addition to excellent material abrasion and a long service life, the discs offer maximum operator safety, protection of natural resources and environmental friendliness. Plantex hemp backings also provide flexibility, and vibration absorbing properties to enhance grinding performance and increase material removal. The larger contact area of CS Unitec type 29 Plantex flap discs produce a greater contact surface area with the work piece for high material removal, increased heat dissipation, cooler grinding, and sound absorption. No smearing or burning! All Plantex flap discs are trimmable allowing for almost all the abrasive, saving you money, unlike other flap discs which are mostly wasted. To trim Plantex flap discs trim the diameter with cutting tools or by running the the flap disc against a secured edge, simple and straighforward.
